August came around quickly this year, and if you’re anything like us you’re looking at your calendar and and planning out this last (foggy) month of summer.  So, to save you some time we pulled together a list of events that involve everything from sports to the arts. San Francisco Mime Troupe: Seeing Red

The San Francisco Mime Troupe delivers yet another wild, thought-provoking ride through their newest work Seeing Red. True to tradition, SFMT has been actively producing subversive works since the civil rights movement in the early 1960s.


NOW Hunters Point Presents Free Screening: A Wrinkle In Time

Saturday, August 11 | 7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Cost: Free


Join your neighbors under the stars with a free screening of,  A Wrinkle In Time. Based on the timeless classic and filled with spectacle, warmth and heart, this celebrated film follows an ordinary girl’s epic adventure and brave journey to save her family, with the ultimate triumph of love.  Seating will be provided, but feel free to bring your own chair and blankets.


BVHP 15th Annual Back to School Celebration and Backpack Giveaway

Saturday, August 18 | 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Cost: Free


Come out to the back to school celebration presented by Bayview-based organizations. This annual celebration honors the students of Bayview Hunters Point; with more than 60 community-based organizations coming together to create a day of games, dancing, yoga, healthy food, and live entertainment.


SF Giants – Heritage Nights

August 24, August 27 and August 29

AT&T Park | 24 Willie Mays Plaza


Head over to AT&T Park to enjoy a baseball and celebrate the rich cultures in the City. Sf Giants’ are hosting three heritage nights: Italian Heritage Night (August 24), Irish Heritage Night (August 27) and Jewish Heritage Night (August 29).
